In addition, we’ll want to know: What is the expected life cycle of the unit? Is it a new or replacement unit? What features from a previously sold unit must be applied to this unit? What can we do better? Where will it be used? What is the area of coverage – any tight streets, unusual terrain, low bridges or overhangs? Any physical constraints we should be aware of? What are some of the required functions and capabilities? What are the storage, habitability, workspace, audio/video, communications, and satellite connectivity requirements?

At Pierce, we consider both aspects of the vehicle – the interior and the exterior. The body exterior is just as important as the interior layout and communications systems, and vice versa.

We know that a well-equipped command center with the proper chassis/body platform will get to the incident and last longer. The next installment will discuss highlights regarding Pierce exterior body construction and the available chassis based on desired body sizes. Followed by information on the interior layouts as well as our ability to offer you a very customized and fully functional (or pre-wired) communications suite.
